Recently, Apple has notified iPhone application developers that they have raised the standards for approval into the App Store. Simply put, they are requiring Apps to contain sufficient amounts of content to appeal to a broad audience. They will not be accepting Apps that are solely intended for an individual blogger with a small audience or a company attempting to create an App used entirely as a promotional tool (yellow-like apps).
Reasons why Apple rejects an application:
- Limited content without any value for the end-users
- Yellow page like apps (advertise a business or service)
- Links to external large media files that may overload the AT&T network
- Poorly constructed applications 1-3 pages that doesn’t engage the end-users
- Not enough user interaction
- Offensive content
- Avoid superficial marketing that makes the app feel shallow and merely promotional
- No vanity apps, personal blogs, static photo albums, flyers, or static business websites
- Apps with only one feed without variety of content type will likely not pass
