Aussie Beers iPhone app was created by Andrew Ousley
A few words about yourself, where you live and what you do?
Andrew: I’m originally from New York City, but currently living in sunny Sydney, Australia. I do marketing for Arts organizations, and in my spare time I write, make music, play sports and taste delicious beers from all around the world.
How did you come up with the idea for your iPhone application? Who/what was your inspiration?
Andrew: I’ve always enjoyed craft beers, and after moving to Australia I found there was a nice craft beer movement getting started here, so I figured I could make this guide to help people who wanted to broaden their taste in beer or discover some new breweries in their area. Australia has such an iconic beer culture, I figured it deserves its very own app.
What impact had the iPhone application on your business/life?
Andrew: It’s given me experience in the mobile field, which is an enormously fast-growing sector in marketing, and helped me to test the waters as far as progamming and designing an app that people might want to use. Hopefully it’ll also sell a million copies so I can finally buy that small island in the tropics I’ve always wanted…
How did you find about SeattleClouds.com website?
Andrew: I was just googling sites/services that would allow me to program my own app without having to learn XCode or Cocoa, both of which make my head spin. This came up, I gave it a test and found it perfect for my needs. The support team has also been enormously helpful, and the final product is something I’m quite pleased with. Kudos to all of you, I’ll be spreading the word!
